Post VH options
This is by no means an exhaustive list, just a 'common things' list.

Base model is the SL.
Standard with a 2.85L 4speed.
Optional engine combos:
2.85L 5 speed or auto
3.3L 4 speed (except NSW) or auto - a very common option
1.9L with 4 or 5 speed, or auto.
4.2L with 4 speed or auto.
Early ones were vynil trim with optional cloth. Plain colour interiors - no oil or volts gauge (V8 scored full instruments), low-rise console, short front door armrests, body colour all over.
Boot mat was rubber.

Trim colours were basically brown, green & blue.

A common VH SL 'value pack' bought by fleets consited of things like: 3.3L, auto, aircon, cloth trim, seat height adjuster, LH mirror.

When PEICE OF CRAP released the XE with standard cloth trim on the GL, GMH counteracted by upgrading the VH SL to standard cloth, and adding the chrome trim around the tail lights.


SL/X
2.85L standard engine.
Optional 1.9L, 3.3L & 4.2L as per SL.
Part way thru, the 3.3L became standard on the SL/X when the XE was released.
Interior trims were two-tone, and in addition to SL, also featured Claret (dark red).

Dash scored oil & volts guage - tach on V8, but vacuum on 6 & 4.
2 speaker radio, cloth 2-tone trim, hi-rise console, rear seat armrest (sedans), long front door armrests, carpet on the lower door trims, carpeted kick panels, firewall inslator, chrome around the headlights, tail lights & side windows (frames still body colour).
Standard wheel on the SL/X was a 14" with plastic hubcaps, while the VB/VC SL/E wheel was offered as a factory or dealer upgrade.

SL/E was standard with a 3.3L, optional with 4.2 & 5L.
Basically all of what's been listed before....
Blacked out door frames (with the chrome).
F & R windscreen rubbers with wide chrome strips.
Blackplastic moulded tail lights (vs red) with black lines & extensions.
Extended rear bumper.
Velour door trims, polugh pile carpet, 4 speaker stereo - 2 on the carpeted rear shelf, 2 in the dash ends. Rear headrests (available as a delete option if you didn't want them). Early cars had no electrics, then central locking became standard (but windows remained optional, or as part of an option pack - eg 5L + trip computer included windows).

There was also the SS - std with a 4.2L, optional with a 5L (then the 4.2 was dropped in it's later years). Available only in red to begin with, then allowed in both red & white.

The vacationer had 3 model runs. Standard 3.3L auto, but 4.2L auto/manual were an option. Sedans scored cloth trim, aircon, auto, LH mirror - all little trinkety crap. Wagons also scored a roof rack
